Project “Children’s New Year Tree” — Creativity and Culture in the Service of Childhood
In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the company Collor Media Communications, the Trešnjober Preschool Institution implemented a project entitled “Children’s New Year Tree.”
As part of the project, 250 children from Trešnjober kindergartens made original New Year decorations inspired by characters and motifs from literature and film. The goal of this initiative was to encourage imagination, creative expression, and a love of books among the youngest.
Donation from the Ministry of Culture
During the official reception, the Minister of Culture and Information, Maja Gojković, presented books to the Chairwoman of the Board of PU Trešnjober, Jelena Krstović, emphasizing the importance of developing reading habits from an early age:
“We must not forget that the love for books, understanding, and true values is nurtured from an early age. I hope we will motivate the children to continue developing their creativity and imagination, which we can see so beautifully on this tree of ours.”
The Minister added that, due to epidemiological reasons, the children could not attend the event, but that a visit to the Ministry will be organized as soon as circumstances allow.
Statement from Jelena Krstović, Trešnjober
“I believe it is not enough to merely acknowledge that we need richer cultural content and higher-quality education. It is time for all of us to take part and contribute.
That is exactly why the entire team of collaborators at Trešnjober Preschool Institution continuously works to offer children a variety of content and experiences — both within the kindergarten and through connections with the wider community. Creative work and imagination are the foundations for further learning, which is why we gladly take part in projects like this one.”
PU Trešnjober thanks the Ministry of Culture and Collor Media Communications for the invitation and support, hoping that the “Children’s New Year Tree” project will inspire the realization of similar cultural and educational initiatives in the future.
We hope that this project will spark a whole series of similar actions.
